About The Little Octopus
When your child finds a little octopus stranded in a tide pool, the only thing to do is dive in and help it find its way home — with a sea turtle, a rainbow reef and a cave full of glowing jellyfish along the way.
It's a personalized children's storybook with 8 fully illustrated story pages plus a cover. Pick the look that matches your child, add their name, and they become the hero of the story.
A peek inside
The story opens like this, with your child's name in place of “your child”:
- One sunny morning at the beach, your child found a tide pool full of tiny treasures: shiny shells, a sleepy starfish, and one small orange octopus who looked very, very lost.
- "Hello," whispered your child. The octopus waved one wobbly arm and blinked its big eyes. "I'll call you Pip," said your child, "and I'll help you find your way home."
- your child pulled the snorkel mask down, took a great big breath, and — splash! — down into the sparkling blue sea went your child and Pip.

Questions parents ask
Do I need to upload a photo?
No. The Little Octopus is a ready-made story: you choose a skin tone and hair style (12 looks are available) and type your child's name. The illustrations are already drawn, so there's nothing to upload. If you'd rather have a book drawn from a real photo, our custom comic book does that.
How is my child's name used in the story?
Their name is written into the story text and the title on the cover, so every page reads as their own adventure. The story is written without he/she pronouns, so it reads naturally for any child.
Can I see the book before I pay?
Yes. The cover with your child's name and the first pages appear on this page as you choose a look and type a name, before you check out.
What formats can I order?
A printed booklet ($16.99, shipping included, to United States, Canada) or a digital download ($9.99). Tax is added at checkout.
Can I order it as a gift for someone else's child?
Yes. Enter the child's name, and use the shipping address of whoever should receive the book. Nothing in the book refers to you, so it works as a gift from a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend.
