Do I need to upload a photo?
No. The Backyard Dinosaur is a ready-made story: you choose a skin tone and hair style (12 looks are available) and type your child's name. The illustrations are already drawn, so there's nothing to upload. If you'd rather have a book drawn from a real photo, our custom comic book does that.
How is my child's name used in the story?
Their name is written into the story text and the title on the cover, so every page reads as their own adventure. The story is written without he/she pronouns, so it reads naturally for any child.
Can I see the book before I pay?
Yes. The cover with your child's name and the first pages appear on this page as you choose a look and type a name, before you check out.
What formats can I order?
A printed booklet ($16.99, shipping included, to United States, Canada) or a digital download ($9.99). Tax is added at checkout.
Can I order it as a gift for someone else's child?
Yes. Enter the child's name, and use the shipping address of whoever should receive the book. Nothing in the book refers to you, so it works as a gift from a parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle or friend.
